About the Role

Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing winter maintenance team as a Sidewalk Crew Member. Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable working evenings and on call shifts. Must have a valid G license!

The ideal candidate must be available on call 24/7 for snow removal season (November 15 - April 15). This position could lead to full-time year round employment.

Salary: $25-$35/hr, based on experience and position offered

Hours: Average 20-30 hours a week

Responsibilities

Clear sidewalks of snow at commercial and/or residential properties
Working as a crew of 2-3 people on a planned sidewalk route
Plowing and salting sidewalks when required
Communicate with supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
Follow site plans to ensure snow and ice are cleared per the customer’s request
Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Responsible to provide some personal protective equipment
Must be willing to work nights and on call shifts
Other duties will be assigned as required

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be reliable and dependable

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions

  • Must have a valid G license

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training
